Simply put, who here thinks the car they run now is an honest future classic? I'm not so sure on mine, I know the '13 Mazda3 isn't, while the '95 240sx surely is, given that it's already appreciating, and the '12 500 could be, as it's iconic and also it was the first year of Fiat's return to the states, and in a rarer color at that, so maybe. The Nissan doesn't really count to me, since I only aquired it as a project/flip car, and I DD my Fiat.

I think the FoST and FiST will be nice future classics. The only 'Murican hot hatches right now and somewhat low volume production so far. I think they've got a fair chance.

Love it or hate it, it will be. It looks unique, has a good story and was a sales flop, thats a recipe for a classic (albeit a distant one).

more like "cult classic" then Classic.

My car now is not for sure. No modern(made after 2000) Civic will ever be a classic Maybe the EP3 just for being the last Civic hatch in the States. (if we're only talking about being a Classic in America.)

I don't don't own one but I've driving one and loved it. Future Cult Classic. it's rare, it's fast, it's ugly, and no one liked it when it was new.

Nissan Cube. The design is so unconventional that it's timeless, like a first gen Fiat Multipla (Also a future classic). Maybe a Suzuki Kizashi

the family elantras? no way
The Jetta? i'd wish it so, but not likely, since it's a mainstream 2.5SE. maybe because it's a stick, but I doubt it.
The GTI? It's a "Wolfsberg" edition, with a stick, and it's 100% stock, so maybe

128i M-Sport, allow me to explain why....

Normally Aspirated Straight six, 6 speed manual transmission, Hydraulic steering, 2 door coupe, relatively light (for BMW).

Our own Patrick George had this to say

http://jalopnik.com/why-the-bmw-1-…

With "only" 230 horsepower to play with, some speed freaks have overlooked the non-turbo 128i, but I feel like one day, the car's purity will get the attention it deserves.

Here's what I'm thinking: some 10, 15, or 20 years from now, the 1-Series may be what the E30 is to buyers today. It will be for people who want a small, purebred sports coupe with impressive performance for not a lot of money. If you find one that hasn't had the crap kicked out of it, it will make for a fantastic enthusiast bargain.

1. The Abarth. It's a very mad little car that's fun to drive and I don't think FIAT will keep selling it here for very long. Maybe.

2. 2011 BMW 335d. A discontinued bi turbo straight six diesel sedan making 265 hp and 425 lb.-ft. of torque. Possibly.

3. 1991 Subaru Loyale. 4WD, 5 speed wagon. Very fun to drive, but they're are tons of them in the NW and they're usually beater cars because they're so cheap. No.

The M-Sport 6sp varient are unicorns.

Cars.com currently has 40 6sp 128's in inventory nationwide. Of those 40, only 13 have sport packages, and 1 is an M-Sport

Autotrader.com currently has 50 6sp 128's in inventory nationwide. Of those 50, only 2 are an M-Sport, 15 or so regular sport package.

This one here looks to be a pretty good deal. 2011, 58k miles, 6sp. Zero options, sunroof delete. Only negative to me is it has halogens instead of zenons. You could probably get this for like 17k all day.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure I'll be able to impress young Jalops with my FieSTa somewhere down the line. I don't know if it will be as legendary as the R5-Turbo, but I suspect it to be at least as adored as MKI GTIs.

My own will be a classic. There were only 90,000 US market cars. I'd say it's pretty safe to say that 15,000 of these have been crashed, stolen or scrapped, so it's got rare covered. It's definitely beautiful, especially with the 99 J Spec bumper (Pictured below). It's quick as an NA, downright fast as a TT and has a huge aftermarket, plus a super dedicated forum of owners. It also had tons of new tech for the time.

Terrible analogy. First of all, have you seen e30 pricing lately? The 318's go for just as much as the 325's. You want to know why? There arent many great examples of either. Which leads me to my second point, how many N54/N55 turbos do you think are going to still be kicking around in 20 years? BMW had to warrany the N54 for 8/100k due to the HPFP failures, you think your going to find a bunch of great running 135i's in 20 years? Cmon bro, try again.

Kinja'd!!! Dsscats > N51fanatic

Kinja'd!!!0

I don't know where you are, but where I am 325s go for $1000-$2000 more than 318s, and the 318s are up for much longer. On top of that, most 128i s are ought by people who want it for the badge (and I'd bet 30-40% of owners don't realize they have M package cars), while the actual enthusiasts will get the 135i and tae better care of it.

A 4 barrel 289 mustang is more desirable than a 2 barrel 260 right? A 67 SS Camaro is more desirable than an RS of the same year right? No shit. Does that mean the 2 barrel Mustang and the non SS camaro arent classics? GTFOH, of course they are. I'm not sure why you are trying to argue that the 135i is more desirable. Have no clue what/how your rambling on in that second sentence even pertains to the original question poised in the original post.
